119. Cosmo Parody with Joan Rivers on Cover
July 2, 2008
Q: There was a Cosmo Parody Issue with Joan Rivers on the cover around 1982 or 1983. Does this sound familiar?
A: It was a separate publication not connected with National Lampoon. See the Comments below for more info.

In the series of magazine parodies Hendra and Kelly edited in the early eighties, they did something called COSMOPARODY. It was an entire magazine, not an article and was not an issue of NL but had many of the same writers.

I remember a parody of Cosmo from the Harvard Lampoon that was very witty and much like the National Lampoon style of humor.

It was a special independently created and marketed publication. I have it. Wasn't connected with National Lampoon.

Was that one of the ones with the article "Ten ways to decorate your uterine walls"?

I have that issue. Magazine published by TSM Publishing Corp. of NY. Quote "This parody has no connection whatsoever with Cosmopolitan Magazine, The Hearst Corporation or Harvard Lampoon." No pages missing nor dog-eared. If interested in making my issue part of your collection, please respond to srbtunes@aol.com
